"I've been obsessed with playing the drums and making beats ever since I heard the iconic opening bars of 'Song 2' by Blur when I was 15 years old. That drum intro is so damn good, it changed my life! I went to a music shop, bought some sticks and started drumming on the sofa cushions at home. Writing this now, 20 years later, I've come a long way - I now have slightly nicer sofa cushions to drum on.

With this record, I wanted to put together a collection of beats that are varied and interesting and that groove well. As for the title, Hidden Cymbals, maybe there's a profound meaning behind it...or maybe it's just a simple play on words and nothing more - I'll let you make up your own mind.

The whole thing was recorded in about five hours, in total, over the course of two cold, damp evenings in London on the 5th and 6th of November 2019. Thanks to Lewis Parker's production, I can gleefully say that this is by far the best sounding drum recording I've ever done. For the bass and drums compositions, I roped in my good friend and slap-bass maestro Daverage. He and I jammed and bounced ideas off each other for many hours, which resulted in roughly 7 minutes of good music. We hope you enjoy it!" - Karl Morgan

Favorite Track: Whichever one is currently playing. This album kills, and you owe it to yourself to listen with no distractions and headphones on. The mixing and mastering of the album feels worth shouting out — every instrument can be heard distinctly yet never overtakes a track.
